Huge changes are afoot at West Ham this summer, with the club already appointing Manuel Pellegrini as the new manager at the London Stadium.

Further alterations to the squad and the staff behind the scenes are expected in the months ahead, particularly with West Ham looking to significantly alter their recruitment structure.

Italian outlet TMW states that’s led the Hammers to target Leicester City man Eduardo Macia as sporting director, who played a key role during the Foxes’ remarkable Premier League title-winning success in 2016.

Still at West Ham’s Premier League rivals in a senior recruitment role, the Hammers reportedly want Macia to oversee their new structure of recruitment in east London.

Crucially, Pellegrini is said to also back a move for the Spaniard and the club are optimistic of a deal being secured in the coming weeks – which would hand West Ham a huge bonus in the transfer market.

In his established career, Macia is said to have played a key role in the signings of Fernando Torres, Javier Mascherano, Dirk Kuyt and Raheem Sterling during his spell at Liverpool.
