West Ham are seeking a wealth of additions in the summer transfer market and a lot of focus will orientate around their defensive ranks.

The Hammers have already bolstered their back-line with the addition of Ryan Fredericks, signing the full-back on a free from Fulham, and will now switch their attention towards the centre of defence.

The Daily Mail claims West Ham are one of numerous Premier League side’s eyeing a deal for Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson, who looks set to depart Teesside after missing out on promotion to the top-flight.

25-year-old Gibson is said to be a target for Southampton, Leicester, Everton and West Ham, with Boro boss Tony Pulis eyeing sales to raise funds for his own transfer activity.

Gibson was called up to the England squad last year after impressing in the Premier League and will eye a return to the top-flight as he seeks to become part of Gareth Southgate’s plans after the World Cup in Russia.
