Manuel Pellegrini’s spending spree at West Ham is coming to an end ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline but there is still time to secure a few more deals.
The Hammers are closing in on the services of Arsenal misfit Lucas Perez and Fiorentina veteran Carlos Sanchez – and could even land another expensive addition.
According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, West Ham and Premier League rivals Arsenal are the two clubs most likely to sign Domagoj Vida from Besiktas before the window slams shut on Thursday.
29-year-old Vida caught the eye for World Cup runners-up Croatia in Russia and has been linked with a number of clubs within English football, including Liverpool and Wolves, but candidates appear to be dropping like flies in the market.
Options from France are on the table with Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco and Lyon all keen on the experienced defender but Besiktas feel they can earn a higher price from an English side.
