Lukasz Fabianski was the hero once again for West Ham on Monday night, as picked out by the supporters.
The Poland international was an integral player in the game for the Hammers, keeping Aston Villa out to ensure the final score was 0-0.
As indicated by the score, the Hammers’ best performing players were of a defensive nature, with Fabianski and Declan Rice the team’s top-rated players on WhoScored.
So it was no surprise that defensive players were pictured when the question of the best performance was posed:
Our first game back after the international break on Monday night – who impressed you the most? pic.twitter.com/9WcQjmjM9d

While there were various calls for Angelo Ogbonna to be crowned the most impressive player, Fabianski was the popular choice.
The 34-year-old, who was named Hammer of the Year last season, was SofaScore’s Man of the Match with a rating of 8.0, having made 5 saves, 1 punch and 2 clearances.
This is another encouraging sign from him for the Hammers, especially as this is his second clean sheet in a row – following the 2-0 victory over Norwich City.
A selection of Twitter reaction to the question can be seen below:
