A very worrying stat about West Ham United’s season has emerged on Twitter today.
Football data analyst Ben Mayhew has compiled a table showing how long each Premier League team has spent in each position this season.
And it does not make pretty viewing for West Ham fans.

As revealed by West Ham World’s James Jones, West Ham are the only team in the Premier League who have not spent a single day inside the top half of the table.

The Hammers currently sit in 11th position which is the highest they have been all year.
If David Moyes’ side had beaten Bournemouth at the weekend, they would have moved into the top ten of the Premier League for the first time this season.
West Ham have spent the most days this season in 18th position – occupying the final spot in the relegation zone – where they have been for 46 days.
15th is the second most occupied spot for the Irons with 35 days spent in that spot and West Ham have spent 29 days at the bottom of the Premier League table.
The East London club have spent a total of 87 days in the relegation zone this season but not a single day in the top half.
