West Ham fans will have woken up to news they won’t have wanted to hear this morning, with reports that Manuel Pellegrini is already at odds with the club’s board.

The Daily MirrorĀ states that the former Manchester City boss is clashing with the Hammers hierarchy after seeing a number of transfer requests rebuffed just two weeks into his tenure at the London Stadium.

Pellegrini is looking to significantly overhaul the side he inherited in east London after the club’s disappointing performances after the past two seasons but is finding it difficult to push through deals.

He has already raised concerns after having many of his requests knocked back and hinted at his issues in comments made in Chile last week, where he said:

“The challenge with West Ham is spectacular. Now I will force the owners to form a competitive team because they are rich but careful with money.”

“We are trying to get the owner to loosen up to make an important investment and thus bring the players we need. The idea is to sign a great figure.”

“If we manage to get a big figure it is very important for the status of the club because that will help convince other players.”
