A new era dawns at West Ham, with the appointment of Manuel Pellegrini last week hopefully guiding the Hammers towards calmer waters.

The east London side have struggled for consistency since moving to the London Stadium two seasons ago and Pellegrini faces a stern task to get the club back-on-track.

He inherits a squad in need of rejuvenation and joins a club that has a proud history, which captain Mark Noble has said he’s looking forward to sharing with the Chilean boss.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Noble also stated he’s excited to play attacking football under the former Manchester City coach.

“As captain, I am looking forward to welcoming the new manager to the Club when we return for pre-season training.”

“I’m sure I’ll have a chat with him before then and I’ll definitely give him the lowdown on West Ham United and what the Club means to its supporters, although I am sure he has already done his own homework and knows plenty about the Club and its traditions.”

“He will be looking to the future, too, and I’m sure he will bring in his own staff and we will be linked to lots of potential new signings over the next few weeks!”
