West Ham’s stint under Manuel Pellegrini did not get off to the best of starts last weekend away from home against Liverpool.

The Hammers were dismantled by Jurgen Klopp’s side and suffered a 4-0 defeat on the opening weekend – but better fortunes lie ahead this weekend.

That is according to Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson, who has backed West Ham to emerge as 2-1 victors against Bournemouth at the London Stadium.

The Cherries secured a 2-0 victory over Cardiff City last Saturday but did not impress the former Arsenal defender, as he wrote:

“I watched Bournemouth last week and they weren’t very good. I know they won but it wasn’t the Bournemouth we’re used to seeing, pinging the ball around and playing with a lot of pace.

“West Ham were all over the place at Anfield but they’re not going to come up against Liverpool every week, I’ll go for them to win.”
