The transfer window may have shut last week but the loan window remains open until the end of August, meaning there could be further departures from West Ham.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have seen Robert Snodgrass attract plenty of attention from Aston Villa after the Scotland international impressed on loan at Villa Park last season.

Since his return to the London Stadium, Snodgrass has impressed Pellegrini and that has made it difficult for Villa to bring the experienced winger back to the Championship – but they are not giving up hope.

Steve Bruce is quoted by The Mirror (Live blog, 17/08, 23:00) as praising the 30-year-old and suggesting he could eye a late move in the market.

“Snodgrass was a very important player for us. He was a class act but has since returned to West Ham.

“He is trying to make an impression on a new manager and I don’t know anything about his current situation.”
