Javier Hernández has acted with true professionalism this summer, as he didn’t make a fuss despite concerns over his future at West Ham.
Having started just 14 Premier League matches last season, it would have been relatively understandable if he did his best to get out of the club for more game time.
However, he carried himself well which has seemingly paid off:
Hernandez has been told he will have a key role at the club this year as Pellegrini doesn’t want a complete overhaul of forwards and also thinks that Hernandez is a top forward with the right service. (Be interesting if a top offer comes in for him what we do though)

While it is disappointing that the club have failed to get Maxi Gómez, it can be seen as a consolation that West Ham will have a player who can be trusted in front of goal – having scored seven league goals last season – and to represent he and his team well off the field.
Pellegrini has said he doesn’t want a complete overhaul, which means the Mexico international is likely to get a fair amount of game time, even if the Hammers do manage to bring another striker in.
That he has been told he will have a “key role”, as reported by ExWHUEmployee, can be seen as a reward for acting in a professional manner, in addition to his prolific nature on the pitch.
There are plenty of fans who are happy to see that he will be staying and given the chance to make an impact.

Completely agree with this. Having 3 new strikers is not a smart move. They will probably be new to the league, so willl take another year to adapt. Having Hernandez around will help these new strikers get used to it all

Best poacher we’ve had since Cottee. Get the ball in the box and he’ll score

To add, we’ve off loaded alot of disruptive players this summer. Chicharito has been professional. I’m willing to stick with him for one more season.

I’d definitely keep him around. Even if we sell, he’s not gonna bring in much more than 8/10m. I think he has one more year on his contract so worth seeing what he can do. He’s an amazing impact player.
