West Ham United have received a bid from Borussia Monchengladbach for Reece Oxford, according to Sky Sports News.

Borussia Monchengladbach are keen on signing Reece Oxford on a permanent deal and have submitted a bid in the region of £10m for the defender’s services.

Oxford spent the first half of the season on loan with the Bundesliga outfit and had to bide his time for some first team action.

However, after making four appearances for Gladbach, West Ham recalled him to address their own shortcomings in defence and in midfield.

Oxford, who stands at 6ft 3in, plays predominantly as a centre back but burst onto the scene when he impressed as a 16-year-old in a central midfield role against Arsenal under Slaven Bilic.

The England under-20 international has since played 14 games in all competitions for the Irons and also had an unsuccessful loan stint at Reading last year.

The 19-year-old is now back at West Ham and will be hoping to impress David Moyes but Borussia Monchengladbach are hoping to poach the youngster.

West Ham’s talented teenager is under contract at The London Stadium until the summer of 2021 and he is highly rated by the club.

Borussia Monchengladbach are hoping to hear back from West Ham soon about this potential move.
