Now that the January Transfer Window has ‘slammed shut’, we can finally sit back and admire the business done by the owners and Sam Allardyce.
We all knew that very little money would be spent, if any at all, and that we’d have to rely heavily on loan signings and free transfers to get through the rest of the season.
So the fact we managed to bring in seven players for next to nothing at all means we’ve arguably enjoyed a successful transfer window and can now look on with optimism and excitement at the prospect of surviving relegation from the Premier League.
The biggest arrivals were obviously the double capture of Antonio Nocerino and Marco Borriello from AC Milan and AS Roma respectively, while Pablo Armero from Napoli should prove to be a brilliant and very effective signing as cover for thew injured Joey O’Brien.
Going the other way, we saw the club pay up Razvan Rat‘s contract with immediate effect, while Modibo Maiga completed a very late move to QPR on loan until the end of the season.
Here’s a look at our January arrivals….
And our January departures…
And Hammers fans on Twitter have mixed feelings regarding the club’s transfer business in January…
@WestHamWorld in my opinion we brought in good experienced players. Plus once everyone's back fit. I believe we got enough to stay up #coyi

@WestHamWorld we appear to have done very well with what we have got? Ask again in May!

@WestHamWorld a couple were good we just have to look at the teams around us, did they end up with better players that could hurt us
