West Ham will face Premier League champions Manchester City on the opening day of the new season, after fixtures were confirmed on Thursday morning.

The 2022/23 season’s matches have been released and it was revealed that the Hammers will have to host Pep Guardiola’s side in the first game of the new campaign on Sunday 7th August.

August’s fixtures will be a tough test for David Moyes and the squad, where they will also face the likes of Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Aston Villa.

The season will also have a six-week gap following the 12th November until Boxing Day, because the Qatar World Cup will be taking place during this time.

The Hammers will travel to Leicester on the final day of the campaign.

The team will also face Premier League newbies Fulham on October 8th and Bournemouth on the 22nd of the same month, as they prepare for life away from the Championship.

Whilst the Hammers have a tough start to the 2022/23 Premier League campaign, it is promising that there are no months with more than two tough fixtures in a row and hopefully the squad can kick start the season with a bang in August.
