West Ham are ready to make a move for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher if the Blues make him available this summer, according to ExWHUemployee.
The midfielder enjoyed a stellar season on-loan at Crystal Palace last season, scoring eight goals and providing five assists in 39 first-team appearances, including a brace against the Hammers in a 2-2 London Stadium draw.
His form has earned him interest from elsewhere, with his long-term Chelsea future still uncertain.
Gallagher has featured in pre-season for Thomas Tuchel’s side but was only a late substitute in their 1-0 victory over Everton on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
And West Ham are believed to be waiting patiently to see what Chelsea decide to do with the 22-year-old before the end of the summer transfer window, with an enquiry already being made in order to make the Blues aware of their interest.
Speaking on his West Ham Way Patron page, Ex said: “We are in continuous dialogue with Chelsea for Connor Gallagher and will move for him if he is made available.”
With over two weeks of the transfer window remaining, there is still no sign of what Tuchel’s plans are for Gallagher but the fact he was only chosen for a late cameo in last weekend’s meeting with Everton is a slight hint that he’s not going to be at the very top of the German boss’ plans just yet.
Whether that might push Gallagher into asking for a move away from Stamford Bridge is a different matter, but it was reported back in May that he was keen on staying at Chelsea to fight for his place, with Tuchel reportedly willing to let him do that.
