West Ham United are looking to make a stunning swoop in the summer transfer market for the services of Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

The Sun claims the Hammers have entered the chase for the services of the England international, who sees his future with the Gunners surrounded in uncertainty.

Once regarded as one of English football’s brightest prospects, Wilshere, now 25, has struggled with injury problems throughout recent seasons but has impressed on-loan with Bournemouth.

Eddie Howe’s side are keen to land Wilshere’s services on a permanent basis but West Ham will offer him the chance to stay in London, as they’re prepared to pay around £30m for his signature.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been public in his desire to keep Wilshere at the club but the player himself is seeking first-team assurances which are difficult to come by in North London.

The Gunners also don’t stand in a strong negotiating position as Wilshere is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract with Arsenal this summer.
