West Ham have dominated the headlines this morning, after it was confirmed HMRC had raided the Hammers premises.

The London Stadium and Rush Green were raided by police officers this morning, who also raided Newcastle United and are in attendance in France as they investigate tax and national insurance fraud.

West Ham were approached by Football.London regarding the raid and the club issued this statement:

“The Club is cooperating fully with HMRC to assist their enquiries.”

“No further comment will be made at this time.”

Laptops, mobile phones and financial records have reportedly been seized by West Ham, after around 20 officers stormed the club’s premises this morning.

Newly-promoted Newcastle United were also raided, where Lee Charnley was arrested.

Whilst the details of the investigation are limited at this time, further news is expected to break and it’s likely the situation and uncertainty will last for a while.
