West Ham United are ready to step up their efforts to get Manuel Lanzini to sign a new contract, according to an exclusive report by The Sun.
With Liverpool sniffing around the West Ham star, things are speeding up in East London.
The Argentinian international has been one of the standout players for West Ham over the past two years.
Initially arriving on a season long loan deal from Al Jazira, Lanzini impressed with his pace, skill and eye for goal.
Last summer, West Ham completed the permanent signing of the attacking midfielder and he stepped his game up, especially after Dimitri Payet left last January.
Now the undoubted star at West Ham, Lanzini is set to be offered an upgrade to reflect that.
With new stars Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez coming in on high wages, West Ham are set to offer Lanzini the chance to compete with them.
The Sun speculates that West Ham will have to offer the 24-year-old about £85,000 per week to get him to sign on the dotted line.
This news comes amid speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool.
Neymar is on the verge of completing his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, which could prompt Barcelona to swoop for Philippe Coutinho.
Liverpool have identified Lanzini as Coutinho’s replacement but West Ham are ready to offer him a bumper new deal to fend off the Reds’ interest.
