West Ham continue to eye defensive reinforcements to their ranks but could be set to miss out on one reported target.

The Hammers have been widely linked with interest in Lazio’s Belgium international Jordan Lukaku, with the full-back potentially involved in a deal bringing club colleague Felipe Anderson to the London Stadium.

However, Lukaku, brother of the Manchester United striker, is cited by TalkSport to prefer a move to join Premier League rivals Leicester City – potentially meaning West Ham will miss out entirely.

23-year-old Lukaku is able to leave the Rome-based side if an offer in excess of £17.5m this summer and West Ham had reportedly lined-up a double-swoop worth £50m to bring him and Anderson to east London.

However, while a collapse of a deal for Lukaku will not mean West Ham also miss out on Anderson, the Hammers may be forced to renegotiate their deal for the Brazil ace.
