Manuel Pellegrini has arrived at West Ham and one of his first pieces of business to complete is identifying a new first-choice goalkeeper.

Joe Hart returned to Manchester City after a disappointing loan spell at the London Stadium, while experienced Spain stopper Adrian has also fallen short of expectations.

That has left the Hammers in the market for a new goalkeeper and Claret & Hugh state that Pellegrini could look to reunite with Willy Caballero.

Now at Chelsea and understudy to Thibaut Courtois, Caballero has worked previously with Pellegrini at Manchester City and Malaga – and could unite with the Chilean boss once again.

Caballero, in contention to start for Argentina at this summer’s World Cup following Sergio Romero’s injury, could be tempted by first-team football at the London Stadium and he’d add further experience to a shaky defence.

The Argentina stopper would also find familiar faces alongside him in east London, including compatriot Pablo Zabaleta.
