Ricardo Vaz Te has been handed a one-year contract extension that takes him through to the summer of 2015.

The Portugeaus striker has been sidelined with a dislocated shoulder since October’s 0-0 draw away to Swansea City and speculation surrounding his Hammers future was building with his contract known to be expiring at the end of the season.

But David Sullivan’s son, Jack, exclusively revealed on Twitter earlier that the club have taken up the one-year option Vaz Te had on his contract:

Sullivan Junior also revealed that Vaz Te is set due to return to first-team duties within the next three weeks.
