Dimitri Payet – there aren’t many words to sum up his genius.
The wonderful French magician gave us some memorable moments during our final season at the Boleyn Ground last term and has already given us a couple at the London Stadium.
His ability to take a free-kick with such power and precision is almost unrivalled; some of the ones he scored last season were absolutely incredible. But it was his one at home to Crystal Palace that stands out the most – just how on earth did he do it? It defied all logic.
It was so good, in fact, that the brilliant Art of Football have brought out a range of t-shirts, jumpers and prints to eulogise Payet’s incredible effort.
Last year they used Payet’s iconic celebration after his first goal for the club v. Newcastle as a print, which we wrote about so much affection here.
This year it’s Payet’s free-kick technique that gets the Art of Football treatment…
We were kindly sent a jumper with the design on for this review and my first impressions were that it was a work of art. The quality of the jumper isn’t bad, either. In fact, the quality of the garment is just as impressive, and well worth its £35 price-tag.
If a t-shirt is more your thing, then £25 gets you a well made, well designed alternative to Payet’s magic. You can wear it either to the game or just casually – it’s a classy piece of kit.
They even do prints so, if you’re not one for having Payet on your clothing, you can have him on your wall at home instead. Options. Options for everyone.
Art of Football provide this range in four colours – black, dark navy, white and grey – and offer sizes from small to XXL.
If you’ve never bought from Art of Football before then you really should be considering it, especially with Christmas just around the corner. These guys know how to eulogise great footballing moments on clothing.
