New signing Razvan Rat can’t wait to make his Hammers debut against Cardiff at Upton Park in August.

The Romanian defender was one of the first players to try on the new adidas home shirt and has admitted it got him more excited for his Premier League bow and that it will be an honour to wear the famous claret & blue.

He told whufc.com: “First of all I am very happy to wear a West Ham United kit. It has a very good quality and is of high standards.

“For me it’s an honour to wear this shirt and to play in the Premier League. I will be very proud to wear the claret and blue colours and I hope to satisfy the fans.

“I’ll be very excited when I pull on the kit for the first time because it wil be my first game here.”

Rat signed for the Hammers on a free transfer from Shakhtar Dontesk earlier this summer.
