Sam Allardyce has revealed that he would be interested in taking Manchester United’s Wilfried Zaha on loan next season.

Several media outlets have reported that the Hammers are ready to make a loan offer for the England Under-21 winger over the past couple of weeks amid speculation that new United boss David Moyes would be prepared to loan him out for the season.

And Allardyce has revealed that he would be interested in taking the former Crystal Palace player should Moyes decide that he needs at least another season of first-team football before making his United debut.

Allardyce told talkSPORT: “I think there would be an interest on the back of the fact that, if David Moyes is thinking of loaning Wilfried again, then I would have thought perhaps he would like to be in and around London where he likes to be.

“Whether that’s with Crystal Palace, West Ham or Fulham, or whoever might be interested, then we might be in a position for him to consider us if that’s the case.”

But the Hammers manager did admit that any move for Zaha will not be until later in the transfer window.

“David will sit and watch what Wilfried does during pre-season. We would be prepared to loan him late in pre-season rather than early on,” he continued.
