Shakhtar Donetsk defender Razvan Rat is still on Sam Allardyce’s radar despite seeing a January move fall through at the last minute, according to reports in Romania.

The 31-year-old’s performances for the Ukrainian club have the attention of several clubs across Europe and is apparently in talks with Marseille, leaving Allardyce with not much time to make a second attempt to bring him to London.

However, Turkish giants Besiktas are also thought to be interested in his securing his services and will be favourites for his signature as they have the lure of European football next season.
