West Ham have bid £10million for Vitesse Arnhem striker Wilfried Bony, according to Sky Sports.

The Hammers have been regularly linked with the Ivorian over the past few months as Sam Allardyce seeks reinforcements in attack ahead of the new 2013/2014 Premier League season.

Swansea City were reported to have had a bid accepted for the striker just last week and looked certain to have secured his signature but, if the reports of the club’s bid are true, then Bony will now have a choice between London or Wales.

Allardyce has already splashed out a club-record £15.5million on England striker Andy Carroll and it appears owner David Sullivan, who was today announced as the club’s majority shareholder, is backing him to the hills to heavily improve the squad as the club counts down to the move to the Olympic Stadium in 2016.
