West Ham have officially confirmed that they’re looking for a new manager following the exit of David Moyes but it seems they’ve suffered a blow in the hunt for one target.

Portuguese outlet O Jogo reports that Paulo Fonseca has turned down the opportunity to move to the Premier League and has decided to remain with Shakhtar Donetsk.

The highly-rated boss, also reportedly a target for Everton, held talks with the Hammers this week regarding the possibility of taking charge at the London Stadium.

However, it’s now stated that he will sign a new deal with Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar and the announcement of a new contract will take place imminently.

Fonseca has caught the eye in Eastern Europe with his fine displays since joining Shakhtar in 2016, with an impressive record of 73 victories in 93 games.

In his two seasons at the club, Shakhtar have won the domestic double twice and Fonseca seems to have decided he has more work to do.
