West Ham are targetting a move for West Brom’s Matheus Pereira, according to Hammers insider ExWHUemployee.
It’s widely accepted across the fanbase that if the club are unable to bring Jesse Lingard back on a permanent basis this summer, then all efforts should then go into to signing the Brazilian.
The 25-year-old impressed for the Baggies last season, scoring 11 goals in 33 Premier League outings, but couldn’t prevent them from being relegated at the first time of asking.
It’s now believed he wants to leave the Hawthorns this summer and West Ham are interested in giving him a route back into the top-flight.
ExWHUemployee confirmed the club’s interest in the attacking midfielder with a thumbs-up emoji on Twitter earlier this week, and the Hammers faithful were understandably buzzing with the news.
Here’s how some fans reacted to Ex’s tweet, with some even suggesting efforts to sign Lingard should be ditched in favour of going all out for Pereira…

I’m gonna say it… lingards heart is in Manchester… can’t imagine Pereira’s is with West Brom. I say we go balls to the wall for him. Age is on his side too. Think he would do well in our squad.
