It doesn’t get much better than realising your dream of playing for West Ham United.
Thankfully for a group of West Ham supporting amateurs, that dream is becoming a reality.
In Betway’s Academy series on YouTube, we’ve had the pleasure of seeing Hammers legend Tony Carr give the amateur team the run around in a series of coaching sessions which are designed for Premier League footballers.
They’ve done gruelling fitness sessions, been taught the art of defending and had the opportunity to listen to the wisdom and experience of one of the best coaches this country has ever seen.
Along the way they’ve also been joined by some current West Ham players, including Mark Noble, James Tomkins, Darren Randolph, Michail Antonio, James Collins and Winston Reid.
In this week’s fourth episode, Carr gives the lads a lesson in how to finish in front of goal, including the best way to lose your marker and how to stay calm under pressure. They’re also joined by Manuel Lanzini and Adrian, who appear to be extremely impressed with the ability on show.
