West Ham continue to push towards exciting additions to strengthen their ranks but seem to have hit a brick wall in the pursuit of one target.

The Daily Mail states the Hammers are yet to meet Lazio’s demands of £35m for Brazil ace Felipe Anderson, with Manuel Pellegrini’s side so far offering £25m and an additional £5m in bonuses.

Anderson is likely to leapfrog Marko Arnautovic as the club’s record-signing if he seals a move to London from Rome, which he’s keen on doing, but the Hammers will need to continue to negotiate a deal.

Reports in Italy have suggested a deal is close but the latest indication is that there’s still work to do in discussions between the two sides, although an agreement for the 25-year-old is likely to be met.

The Hammers were overly reliant on Arnautovic last season and the capture of Anderson will reduce the pressure on the Austria international.
