Close to Cambiasso?

Leicester City v Queens Park Rangers - Barclays Premier League
Cambiasso pretty much kept Leicester City in the Premier League all on his own last term. The 35-year-old proved he still has what it takes to compete at the highest level, though whether he’d be a permanent fixture for us next season is another question.

The Sun are reporting we’re close to agreeing personal terms with the midfielder, which would mean us beating Leicester City to his signature.

Personally I don’t see the point in signing him, mostly because of his age, and he’d probably be better of re-signing for the Foxes.

  1. Sorry, forgot to add, the foxes play maker at 35yo should be imo avoided at all costs.
Although I believe that “stories” surrounding him arriving at the Boleyn are just that, signing him would be a huge step back and totally against our current transfer policy.

Apart from anything else he doesn’t have it anymore for the full 90mins and just because he ran the show in defeating us at their place doesn’t necessarily make him an ideal transfer target.

As let’s face it, during our post Xmas slump even I could have led a team to victory against us!

I don’t want to cause any offence but we should have been wiping the floor with teams like Leicester last year. But we didn’t and fair play to them.

  2. Yeah, not a bad article.
Although if im honest I’m not sure what tonka and Carroll have to do with it really?

For I was under the impression by the title it was more to do with who we should/could be signing and not players who are very much central to our plans for the coming season.

Having said that, I believe signing the Everton winger would be a good piece of business. His attitude and spikeiness is just what we need and has been sadly lacking as a team over the years.
