West Ham are SkyBet‘s favourite to sign Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge in January.
The club’s struggles so far this season have led to reports of David Moyes being handed a considerable transfer kitty to spend on improving the squad during the winter transfer window.
One position that we probably shouldn’t spend too much time investing in in January is up front, what with the likes of Javier Hernandez, Diafra Sakho, Andy Carroll, Andre Ayew and Toni Martinez all vying for playing time at the moment.
But that doesn’t mean to say the bookies don’t think we’ll be looking to bring a striker in anyway.
SkyBet have us down as 4/1 favourites to sign Sturridge, who could be willing to leave Liverpool in an attempt to boost his chances of going to next summer’s World Cup in Russia with England.
The 28-year-old has had his injury problems in recent years but has managed to keep himself fit for much of the current campaign so far, although that hasn’t translated in to regular playing time under Jurgen Klopp.
Sturridge, valued at £18m by transfermarkt.com, has started four of his 12 appearances for the Reds this season, scoring three goals and assisting two.
