Anyone who is old enough to remember watching Julian Dicks playing for the mighty Hammers will count themselves honoured to have done so.

The left-back is a true West Ham hero and it really is fantastic to see him back at the club alongside new manager Slaven Bilic in the dug out.

Dicks epitomises everything that means to be associated with West Ham. Passion, dedication, heart, belief, hard work – he had it all, and now he’s using transferring those traits in to what is already becoming a successful coaching career.

He’s also an absolutely wonderful bloke and always has time to answer fans’ questions on Twitter, as well as sign autographs, pose for photos and speak with those who simply admire him as both a player, coach and a man.

And he’s been talking passionately on camera for Betway’s #PrideInYourShirt campaign, where he speaks candidly about his debut for the Hammers, what it meant to wear the famous claret and blue during his playing days and how important the fans are to the football club.

Watch the video above (or below) and see what the great man has to say…
