West Ham’s infamous Insider column admitted the club have lodged a £20m bid for a player from Scotland this month.
What immediately ensured was reports that the player in question is Celtic’s Moussa Dembele, who has been in prolific form in the SPL since arriving from Fulham last summer.
Dembele has netted 19 goals in 36 first team appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ side and would definitely give us the threat in front of goal we so desperately need going in to the second half of this season.
The report also said that we’d made a £6m bid for a Premier League striker and an £8m move for a forward in the Championship.
But it’s the potential bid for Dembele that has got fans pretty excited about a deal going through this month, and fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight at what could be a huge coup for the club…
