New signing Emerson Palmieri has taken to Instagram to send a message to West Ham fans.
The Italy international finalised a £13m move from Chelsea to east London on Tuesday evening to help add depth and competition in David Moyes’ side’s left-back position.
Following the loan departure of Arthur Masuaku to Besiktas, only Aaron Cresswell remained as a first-team option in that position, so Palmieri’s arrival will come as a relief to Moyes and fans alike.
And the defender took to Instagram shortly after his arrival was officially confirmed to express his happiness at signing for West Ham and to thank fans for their supporting messages on social media.
Alongside a video to celebrate his arrival at London Stadium, he said: “Very happy to join West Ham.
“Thank you for all the positive messages and support. Come on you Irons!”
