After handing in a transfer request in the summer, not many people thought they’d witness Ricardo Vaz Te scoring an overhead kick at Upton Park again.
Yet there we all were seeing him get the Hammers back in the game against Manchester City on Saturday evening with an over head kick that was almost a carbon copy of the one he scored in the 6-0 victory over Brighton in the Championship two seasons ago.
The Portuguese forward is certainly backing up his claims that he should be getting more game time. He’s netted four times in eight games in all competitions so far this season, which makes him joint top scorer with Ravel Morrison.
With the game against City being live on Sky Sports, fans across the country took to Twitter to voice their opinions on Vaz Te’s acrobatic goal, many of which showed their complete disbelief that they’d seen what they’d seen from a player of Vaz Te’s ‘calibre.’
Others thought his celebration was a little uncalled for considering West Ham were still trailing…

Love the modesty of the Vaz Te celebration. No picking the ball out the net and getting on with chasing an equaliser for him. #whufc #MOTD

Vas Te is so frustrating, we can pull off overhead kicks but then can't kick a ball in another match #whufc
