We all know how bad an idea The Insider was for the club.
The decision to tell the world what we were up to behind the scenes during a transfer window was always a catastrophic one, as we experienced last summer when almost every single striker we targeted ended up somewhere else.
Karren Brady pulled the plug on The Insider earlier in the year after criticism from all corners of Social Media flooded in and it suddenly dawned on the club that it may have been having a negative effect on its transfer dealings.
But just as the fans thought they’d seen the back of the club talking about its potential transfer activity in public, the club brings back a similar feature on its website…

To be fair, it’s nothing like The Insider and simply acts as a rumour column for West Ham fans to catch up on all the Hammers related transfer stories in one place. So many other clubs have a similar feature on their own sites, including Arsenal, Man United and Man City.
But after the outcry over The Insider, it’s perhaps too early for the club to do anything like this while its transfer policy continues to be criticised. And the fans clearly aren’t happy about it…
@WestHamUtd this is our problem, telling everyone
