West Ham United’s under-21 side face a real challenge tonight as they prepare to take on Swindon Town in the Checkatrade Trophy.

Competing in the group stages of the competition, the young Hammers come up against the senior Swindon Town side, who compete in League Two.

Ahead of the game, the Irons have announced a strong looking line-up for the match.

England under-19 international Nathan Trott starts in goal with a defence of Alex Pike, Josh Pask, Tunji Akinola and Vashon Neufville in front of him.

Pike and Pask both have Football League experience; Pike was on loan at Cheltenham Town while Pask has previously been loaned out to Dagenham and Redbridge and Gillingham.

The midfield five looks strong too.

Moses Makasi, who is captain tonight, partners Portuguese wonder-kid Domingos Quina in the middle.

Former Everton youngster Nathan Holland and Norway international Martin Samuelsen are on the wings whilst new signing Sead Haksabanovic will get his first game in claret and blue playing behind the striker.

Up front is Toni Martinez, who will be looking to stake a claim for a first team spot after impressing Bilic in pre-season.

Here is how West Ham fans reacted to this line-up on social media.
