Manuel Lanzini entered 2022 with a bang after netting a brace in West Ham’s 3-2 New Year’s Day victory over Crystal Palace.

The Argentine’s first goal was right out of the top drawer, which we’re used to seeing from him, while his second came from the penalty spot.

It took Lanzini’s record at West Ham since signing in 2015 to 27 goals and 25 assists in 180 first-team appearances.

What’s impressive, though, is Lanzini’s resurrection in David Moyes’ squad having initially been made to play a bit-part role during the first 12 months of Moyes’ return.

Now Lanzini is thriving in Claret and Blue once more, and he took to Instagram after his impressive showing at Selhurst Park to salute his goals and the team’s great start to 2022.

He posted: “Very happy to start 2022 like this. 2 goals and +3 important points. Good game boys.”
