A Premier League has shown an interest in signing Dimitri Payet this January, according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
Payet has told the club he no longer wants to play for them and wants to move back to Marseille this month – going on strike in the process – but the club are currently refusing to sell for anything less than their asking price, which is believed to be near £30m.
Marseille have already had a number of bids rejected for him and some reports even claim they’ve given up on their attempts to bring him back to France and have since moved on to other targets – though that’s currently difficult to believe.
However, Solhekol tweeted on Monday that a mid-table Premier League has shown an interest in signing the 29-year-old, but he didn’t name them.

Payet is obviously not interested in playing for anyone other than Marseille at this point, with his key reason for wanting to move being his family struggling to settle in England, let alone London.
If Payet does leave the club either this month or in the summer, it will be surprising if his destination is anywhere other than Marseille.
