Danny Potts has joined League Two side Portsmouth in a one-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old defender has been an ever-present member of the club’s U21 squad, who are currently leading the Barclays U21 Premier League, this season and featured in the first-team’s 2-0 Capital One Cup victory at Burnley last month.

And Potts will now enjoy a valuable month of first-team football at Fratton Park as he continues to develop in to a defender worthy of becoming a first-team regular at the Boleyn Ground.

The youngster could make his Pompey debut at home to Scunthorpe United this Saturday before fixtures against Southend, Hartlepool, Wycombe Wanderers and Newport County, and is due to return to the club on December 21.

Potts has made 11 first-team appearances for the Hammers since making his debut in the 1-0 Championship win over Barnsley in December 2011.
