FiveThirtyEight‘s supercomputer isn’t being kind to West Ham’s prospects this season, but that’s not really surprising.

After three consecutive defeats and no goals scored, it’s already looking unlikely that David Moyes will be able to deliver a third top-seven Premier League finish in a row since returning to the club in December 2019.

Indeed, only three games have been played and so much more can happen this season, but the early signs aren’t exactly great.

As a result, FiveThirtyEight‘s supercomputer now has down to finish 14th with 44 points. Before last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Brighton, they had us down to finish 13th with 46 points, so things seem to be getting worse by the week.

What’s more, they’re giving us just a 4% chance of finishing in the top seven again.

Still, there’s a long way to go and if Moyes can get the players he wants in before next week’s deadline, he’ll have a far better chance of turning things around sooner rather than later, hopefully starting with the trip to Villa Park this coming Sunday…
