Little did we know that after beating Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates on the opening day of the season, we would be meeting them at home with so much still to play for and so much on the line in April.
If we manage to complete the double over Wenger’s men on Saturday it’ll boost our top four hopes no end, while it’ll give us all the confidence needed to win the FA Cup replay against Man United next week and secure our spot at Wembley.
It’s a tough ask but the way we’ve been playing this season, anything is possible.
We’re unbeaten in 13 home games and have an almost fully fit squad to choose from – not often we can boast such luxuries, is it?
Anyway, if you’re planning on betting on the game on Saturday, don’t part with your money before checking the infographics below, which are provided by KickOff – who offer a range of football betting tips and predictions.
Our record at home v. Arsenal…
As you can see, our last six meetings with Arsenal at the Boleyn Ground haven’t ended well, but that was under an old regime. We’re a completely different football club now, both on and off the pitch, so it’s difficult to make a case against us based on previous meetings.
Some interesting stats…
- West Ham scored in 90% of their last 20 home games.
- West Ham have kept a clean sheet in 40% of their last 20 home games.
Home & Away form…
So we all know about how good our home form is, with just four defeats at the Boleyn Ground from our last 20 Premier League matches. In that time we’ve scored 28 and conceded 20.
Arsenal have a fairly similar away record though. Just four defeats from their last 20 Premier League away days, scoring 36 and conceding 23.
Some interesting stats…
- In our last 20 home games against teams positioned above us in the table, we’ve won 5, drawn 3 and lost 12.
- In their last 20 home games against teams positioned below them in the table, Arsenal have won 12, drawn 4 and lost 4.
Outcome probability…
According to KickOff.co.uk’s algorithm, there’s a 42% chance we’ll complete the double of the Gunners on Saturday, with a 12% chance of it being a narrow 1-0 victory.
They also have us at 50% chance to net the first goal, with that goal most likely to come from a midfielder.
Lastly, don’t expect lots of goals – there’s a 56% chance this game will have under 2.5 goals.
