Sam Allardyce is the highest paid England manager in the world, according to Pluri Consultia.

Despite managing 17th placed West Ham and continualy being criticised for his preferred style of football and choice of tactics, Allardyce also comes in as the 13th highest paid football manager in the world.

His reported €3.5million-a-year salary is thought to be more than Napoli boss Rafa Benitez, PSG boss Laurent Blanc and even Spain’s Vicente del Bosque.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but surely we’re paying way over the odds for Sam Allardyce’s services? Of course, the salaries outlined in the reports are subject to press reports and some inside knowledge, but it can’t be far off his real salary, even if it’s not 100% accurate.

If Allardyce fails to turn league form around and keep us in the top-flight, a lot of questions will have to be asked of why he was being paid so much. Either way, though, Sam Allardyce will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Here’s the report…
