Another day, another hectic time at West Ham United.
Today has had it all. Our customary out-of-contract, 30-plus-year-old striker having a medical (Nene), a huge injury scare (Kouyate), the Olympic Stadium getting its floodlights fitted (yay!) and Sam Allardyce’s future in more doubt (shock!).
But while the club moved quickly to react to most of the rumours surrounding it through the day, they failed to let us known about a ‘mystery’ player seen training with the squad in training photos released via the Hammers’ official Facebook page.
But the fans don’t miss a thing and it wasn’t long before people were wondering who on earth the player behind Enner Valencia was…
Doesn’t look familiar, does he?
Some fans suggested it could be Nene, but it definitely isn’t. Others even claimed it to be former Villarreal star Nilmar, although it doesn’t really look anything like him.
And just now, as I write this, rumours on Twitter are suggesting it’s former Hamburg player Josef Shirdel, which is a bit more believable.
But is it? It’s all becoming a bit of a mystery…
