Playing in the Europa League next season will mean we’ll need to make several signings to ensure we’ve got the strength in depth to cope.
And despite not yet having a manager at the club, the board are still busy looking for players to come in over the summer.
Today David Sullivan’s son, Jack, confirmed on Twitter that we’ve signed Darren Randolph from Birmingham City, with the club expected to officially announce the Republic of Ireland international’s arrival a little later today.
It’s believed Randolph has been brought in as back up to Adrian now that Jussi Jaaseklainen has left the club, and he’ll no doubt be called upon in the cup matches.
Here’s how the fans reacted to the news that Darren Randolph is West Ham’s first summer signing…
Randolph has signed for #whu. Look at the West Ham website later today for more info.

Good to see most are happy with Randolph as the back up keeper.
Who's next? A big one in 2/3 weeks according to Sullivan

Having said that, pleased with the signing of Darren Randolph. Will be good #2 to Adrian. Was always my go-to keeper transfer in older FMs.

Never heard of Randolph before. Hopefully he's a decent keeper that will play Europa League games. We basically need two squads.

Darren Randolph is a more than adequate keeper, watched him his his early days at Charlton and when he returned with Birmingham this season.
