Home The SEVEN worst West Ham players in recent memory Frederic Piquionne

Frederic Piquionne

Piquionne followed Avram Grant to West Ham despite having only scored 5 goals all season for Portsmouth. He initially became a hero for us by scoring the winner against Tottenham in September 2010. But we soon came to realise that he had peaked too early. A lasting memory of the one-time French international was a late goal to put us 2-1 up against Everton where we needed a win desperately. Freddie then ripped his shirt off in celebration only to receive his second yellow card before Everton went up the other end and levelled. We were relegated that season which was partly down to Piquionne’s display of donkey-like shows up front for us. He got no better in the Championship.
