Poor old Collison has never really enjoyed an extended spell in the first team without being dropped for someone else, and has mostly had to settle for substitute appearances and/or the odd cup game.
There’s no doubting his ability, but a serious knee injury a couple of years hindered his progress and he’s since been sent out on loan to Bournemouth and Wigan in the Championship.
If Allardyce stays at the club, it’s expected that Collison will leave.
