Nolan and Carroll have a great partnership off the field and used to have one on it, too. But it’s been too sporadic this season and, at times, dropping Nolan would’ve been the right thing to do. And, when he was getting himself all the time over the Christmas period, Allardyce should’ve punished him by proving that he’s not always the first name on the team sheet. The fans can see it, so why can’t Allardyce?
