Robert Hall leaves for Bolton

West Ham have confirmed that Robert Hall has signed a three-year contract with Championship side Bolton Wanderers.

The 19-year-old forward decided to leave the club for first-team football having spent the last few seasons on loan.

He made his first-team debut for the club in a 2-1 defeat away to Derby County on New Year’s Eve 2011 when the club were in the Championship.

After spending time on loan at Bolton towards the end of last season, Trotters boss Dougie Freedman decided to pursue Hall’s permanent signature with the youngster’s Hammers contract expiring at the end of June.

Manager Sam Allardyce told West Ham World towards the end of last season that Hall was the “most exciting” talent in the club’s academy, which sparked rumours that he was prepared to offer Hall a run in the first-team next season.

Unfortunately that wasn’t the case and Hall has left without the Hammers really being able fully put his talent to good use.

Compensation will be now be agreed between the two clubs.
