An opening day match against Arsenal at the Emirates stadium is daunting for even the most experienced Premier League players, considering most of the time the Gunners have most of the ball possession.
However, Bilic had no worries about including 16-year-old protege Reece Oxford in the starting XI. It was a massive gamble that paid off, as the teenager kept the likes of Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil quiet.
This meant Oxford became the second youngest player to start a Premier League game at 16 years and 236 days old.
